As part of my UI/UX Design and Web Design Internship at Generate Designs, I worked on designing and developing the Celebrate Wake Community website, a platform dedicated to connecting and highlighting local businesses, events, and initiatives in Wake County. The goal was to create an accessible, visually engaging, and easy-to-navigate website that fosters community engagement while maintaining a clean, professional aesthetic.

Using Figma, I mapped out the website’s structure to ensure a seamless user experience. Key sections included:
• Homepage: A welcoming introduction with highlights of community events and initiatives.
• Business Directory: An interactive, filterable list of local businesses.

• About & Contact Pages: Providing background on the initiative and a way for visitors to connect.

• Navigation & Accessibility – Ensuring an intuitive layout with easy-to-use filters and mobile responsiveness.

Using WordPress and custom HTML/CSS, I implemented the design while ensuring a smooth and engaging user experience.

After launching an initial prototype, I conducted usability testing to identify navigation improvements, ensure accessibility compliance, and refine interactive elements. Feedback led to enhancing map functionality, improving content hierarchy, and optimizing performance for mobile users.

The Celebrate Wake Community website successfully connects residents with local businesses and events through a modern, user-friendly platform. This project showcases my expertise in UX/UI design, web development, interactive mapping, and community-driven digital experiences.
